Admissions for 2024-25
Parents who are interested in sending their children to Fulfen Primary School are encouraged to visit and see our school for themselves. Please see details below regarding our Open Days for Reception and Pre-School.
Reception Admissions
We have two Reception classes and a total of 60 places. Each class has a teacher and teaching assistant.
Pupils are admitted into the Reception class in the September after their fourth birthday. Staffordshire Local Authority is responsible for the allocation of places for Reception classes and parents make their applications directly to the Local Authority.

Applications Close: 15th January 2024

Pre-School Admissions
We have two Pre-School classes, which are both led by a teacher in a morning. There are 52 places available and 42 spaces in our enriching afternoon 'Wrap-Around' provision. We offer up to 30 hours of free childcare for children aged 3 & 4 years.

Applications open: September 2024
Places will be allocated at the end of March 2024. After this date, applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability.
Applications for Pre-School places for 2024-25 are made directly to the school and will be processed and co-ordinated by Fulfen Primary School. Please email nursery@fulfen.staffs.sch.uk for further information.
If the number of applications exceeds the total number of places, the following criteria will apply:
- Siblings of children currently in school/LAC or SEN children
- Children requesting 5 afternoon Wrap-Around afternoon sessions per week
- Children requesting between 1-4 Wrap-Around afternoon sessions
- Distance from home to school
We also offer afternoon wrap-around and lunch provision for children who attend the morning sessions. To find out more, please see our "Information about Pre-School and Wrap-Around Provsion booklet".
