What's going on in Year this half term?

Year 3 would love a pet dragon! Do you think Miss Davies will let us have one? Well, the children are going to try their hardest to persuade Miss Davies to get one. Children will use cause and effect conjunctions, include their opinions and give convincing reasons.

Year 3 will be learning about equivalent mass, time, shape and money.

This half term, we will be learning about the fascinating lives of a Roman soldier and looking into how they invaded many countries and put an end to the Iron Age (our previous topic). We had lots of fun turning ourselves into Roman soldiers using our ipads and labelling their attire.

Using the glockenspiels, the children have been learning to perform a few notes to the famous song 'Three Little Birds'.

In science, children will be exploring the meaning of 'nutrition'. They will learning about the different food groups, understand the nutrients in our food and then to use that knowledge to plan a healthy meal.

Bonjour! We will be continuing our learning on French animals but this half term we will be learning to ask and answers questions in French. What am I? 'Je suis in lapin.' 🐰

The competition is high in Year 3! The buzz for TTRockstars is fantastic. Here is our reigning champion from year 3, who has been awarded a Rock Star twice!

Children should come to school in their PE kits on PE days (which is on a Wednesday this term).

Our PE Kit consists of:

  • White T-shirt and black shorts;
  • Additional navy Fulfen hoody and navy tracksuit bottoms for outdoor PE;
  • Trainers;
  • In extremely cold weather, extra layers such as under-layers, hats and gloves are permissible as long as the activity can be carried out safely in these (a staff member will advise the children appropriately);
  • In hot weather, please can children apply their own suncream on before school and make sure that they have a drink and hat with them (a staff member will advise the children whether their hat is appropriate for an activity or not).

Hair and Jewellery:

  • No jewellery (including fitness bands) should be worn for PE;
  • Earrings should be removed and not taped over;
  • Long hair must be tied back.

Snack is sold at morning break. Please ensure that children bring in the correct change!

Children can bring in their own healthy snack if they prefer.

All children should bring in a (named) waterbottle to access during the day.
