A welcome message from the
Deputy Headteacher/Leader of Inclusion
Here at Fulfen we pride ourselves on our inclusive ethos. We passionately believe that children should reach their potential. We have high aspirations and ambitions for all of our children. We believe that there are “no excuses” made for underperformance and that there are “no limits” to what children can achieve. Our staff adopt a “solution focused” approach to overcoming barriers. Equal is not every child receiving the same provision, fair is everyone getting what they need in order to be successful, therefore, at Fulfen we always endeavor to be fair but it may not always feel equal. Working with pupils, parents and carers is at the heart of everything we do.
In January 2016 we were incredibly proud to achieve the Enhanced Dyslexia Status, an accolade that demonstrates the consistent quality provision that every child single child receives through high quality teaching on a daily basis.
As a result of the inclusive practice that I implemented and led in our school I was awarded a Specialist Leader of Education specialising in SEND by the secretary of Education at the time Nicky Morgan. An SLE is recognised by the National College of Teaching and Leadership. In order to achieve the status there has be a substantial evidence of outstanding leadership.
More recently I have completed the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination with Birmingham University and passed with distinction at masters level.
I would like to thank you for your continued support.
Mrs. Carly Tranter
Specialist Leader of Education (SLE)
